NZ Team For The ODI Series Called Afridi Retained As Captain

Allrounder Shahid Afridi has been retained as Pakistan cricket captain, while drummer Misbah-ul-Haq, has been his deputy for the next six international match one-day series in New Zealand.

Selection Committee is to keep Afridi ended as the team captain of 16 men, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to release said.


Selection for the World Cup is likely to be announced for the International Cricket Council (ICC) has set a deadline of 19 January.

The veteran drummer Mohammad Yousuf was left out, raising fears of 36 years do not reach the final of the World Team Cup.

Wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal, who has been approved by the PCB for the election, after he too fell into the subject of the investigation to be fixed has been restored to the side of the New Zealand series.

Squad: Shahid Afridi (captain), Misbah-ul-Haq (vice-captain), Kamran Akmal Mohammad Hafeez, Younis Khan, Asad Shafiq, Umar Akmal, Abdul Razzaq Abdur Rehman, Saeed Ajmal, Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul, Wahab Riaz, Sohail Tanveer, Tanveer Ahmed, Ahmed Shahzad.

The series of six one-day matches which starts in Wellington on January 22, Pakistan will be the last before the World Cup will be hosted jointly by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh from February 19 to 2 April.
